Satisfied But Not Ecstatic - HP Compaq Mini 110 |
![]() |
A while back, I purchased a miniature laptop, also known as a netbook. I had been looking for a while, until I came across a Compaq Mini 110 at Best Buy. It was on sale for an affordable $350 and I ended up purchasing it within two days. This HP netbook is very compact and lightweight at 1.5 kg. The keyboard is spaced nicely and is easy to type on. I like how easily it is to maneuver through the internet, and it can store a fair amount of data and mp3 downloads on the 160GB hard drive. It has 1 GB of RAM installed, the maximum it can have is 2 GB which I haven't upgraded yet. |

The processor is the Intel Atom N270 running at 1.6 GHz. My Mini 110 originally came with Windows XP, but I upgraded to Windows 7. I have to say mine has a very average battery life of approximately 2 hours, which is not terrible, but not impressive for a netbook to say the least. Another aspect about the netbook I'm unhappy with is getting used to the 10.1 inch screen. Granted I was aware of this before I made the purchase, but it can be a slight inconvenience to do most of your work using a small screen and not having the option to see a complete image or document. I recently bought a large 20 inch monitor that I could plug in to my netbook, which solves that issue. The only other disadvantage I've discovered with having this netbook is that is doesn't have a CD-drive. Although it is inconvienient, I found a way around it and purchased an external CD-drive to connect to it, but I was dissapointed that it took two USB ports which only left one extra. Overall, I am satisfied with my HP Compaq Mini 110 and am happy with the price I paid for it.
