That'll Do Nicely - My Dell Inspiron 15

Dell Inspiron 15
As someone that does a great deal of work from home, the loss of my trusty laptop about six months ago was a big blow. I needed a new one fast, yet was not ready to spend a fortune on a new computer. Luckily, once I started shopping around, I noticed a number of high quality laptops for under $650.00, which was my intended budget.

After much deliberation, I decided to purchase a Dell Inspiron 15 with a 15.6 inch screen and an Intel Celeron 900 processor.

The laptop I chose came with Windows 7 Home Premium, 4 GB of memory, a 6-cell battery, an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD video card, and high definition audio. I purchased this Inspiron for approximately $560.00 from Best Buy and was aided by a knowledgeable salesperson that helped match this computer to my current needs. I also purchased two years of Kaspersky Anti-Virus protection for a one time fee of around $20.00, as Best Buy was offering a special price for this program and one can never be too safe.

After about six months with my Dell, I have nothing but positive things to say about my experiences with this laptop. I currently use the computer to surf the internet, check e-mail, and keep up with work related materials. The Dell Inspiron 15 offers smooth and fast internet surfing, along with enough memory to hold my decently sized music and photo collection.

While I must admit I am not a huge gamer, nor do I store or watch movies from my computer, this Inspiron 15 has provided me with quick internet access and the smooth use of various programs.

Additionally, It is possible to upgrade the processor for a little more than $100, which may be a good idea for the user that intends play a great deal of computer games, as this will provide a faster and better quality of play. However, for users like me that simply enjoy surfing the internet, listening to music, storing photos, and playing a few simple games, the Dell Inspiron 15 is a great and affordable choice of laptop.

(Editor's note - Personally I would rather go for free antivirus software from Avast or AVG rather than pay for Kaspersky.)
