Tech Novice Loves Her Red Gateway NV5469Zu |

To say that I really like my Gateway NV5469Zu is a constant source of amazement to people who know me well. From the moment my husband brought his first Commodore 64 home in the mid-80's, he has coaxed me kicking and screaming into the digital age. I am what is politely called, a Luddite; that is, someone who is mistrustful of and slow to embrace modern technology. However, the nature of my work these days demands faster response and more power than the old Compaq Pentium 4 I clung to. |

We went to the local Fred Meyer and purchased our Gateway laptop for under 590 dollars, plus fifty dollars for a two year warranty. My only request, when my husband wondered what features I'd like, was, "I'd like a blue one." We wound up with a flashy cherry red laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium and a 15.6 inch High-Definition LED-Backlit Screen (1366 x 768 resolution). It has a 2.2 GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core T4400 Processor, and also contains 4 GB of memory, a 320 GB available hard drive, DVD/RW drive, and a multi-card reader. What I like about my Gateway is that I, a total tech novice can run it. It's intuitive and respectful with me, and I respect it right back. I swoop around the Internet, gathering information at dizzying speed. My Gateway helps me to compose, submit, and correspond with brokers and clients simply and quickly. When, in a former job I was confronted with dreaded flowcharts, my NV5469Zu navigated them gracefully. The drawbacks I have encountered is a hyper-sensitive multi-gesture touchpad; we bought a Belkin Mouse and find it much easier to use. The speakers are adequate, except there isn't nearly the bass response we'd like for listening to music. I like my Gateway NV5469Zu very much; it's gentle with me, and I appreciate that.
