Terry's Netbook Has a Big Heart - HP Mini 5102![]() It has a webcam and mic and a headphone jack, an SD slot, 2 USB ports and an ethernet port, and, get this, an HDMI output! With its bright and very crisp 10.1 widescreen, I can surf the web or watch videos from almost anywhere. The 160 GB hard drive along with the 2GB ram and 1.67 GHz processor allows it to run Windows 7 flawlessly. Overall, I'm very happy with this little netbook, it is lightweight yet powerful enough to use for working on spread sheets, word processing, watching videos (I've even edited video with it), or simple web surfing. It boasts a nearly fullsized keyboard that even my massive paws can navigate well and a handsome looking outer shell that is a black swirled pattern. The only thing that would prevent me giving this HPmini a 5 star rating is the battery life. Mine came with the standard 3 cell battery and it gets exhausted around 2 and a half hours in. I've since purchased an extra battery that is a 6 cell that gets well over 5 hours of use so between the two I'm ready to go cordless all day if needed. For a price of $286 (from BestBuy), I cannot complain about the expense ($48) of adding another battery, but I'd recommend purchasing yours with the 6 cell battery if possible. Again, this is a wonderful machine that is extremely portable, very light yet powerful and does nearly everything well. I find myself grabbing it whenever I'm headed out instead of my older 17 inch laptop. The small size of this HP mini 5102 hides a huge laptop inside. When you next begin looking at new laptops, look hard at the HPmini. It would be a good choice and you'll thank me later.
