He Ain't Heavy, He's My Joybook - Benq Lite U101 |

In April 2010, I became the proud purchaser of a brand new Benq Joybook Lite U101. Making such a purchase became especially necessary because of my recent promotion at work to a mobile sales position. I did a lot of market research before deciding on a model and manufacturer that I could feel comfortable with. I needed something light and portable as I would be traveling through Asia. I opted to go with Benq, as they have a solid reputation and an extensive line of very efficient laptops and mini notebooks. |

There was an option to purchase a pink Joybook but in the end I went with a more business like black. The Benq Joybook Lite U101 model that I purchased came with a 10.1" LED backlit display and several handy accessories including Windows XP (now available with Windows 7), Intel Atom Processor N270, a Webcam, mini mouse, headphone set, and a mouse pad. I was over the moon with the price, I paid a total of 8,000 Thai Baht which is approximately $249.00. I saved a small fortune on the accessories and was very pleased with the comprehensive service that I received. The initial draw back was not obvious but I soon felt that the keyboard letters could have been a bit larger as eye strain became a minor issue. The keyboard is in fact 90% of standard Qwerty size. However as the days went on and my eyes adjusted to the size I felt completely confortable using my laptop. My Benq U101 is very light (1.3kg), and is a versatile machine which provides easy to use functions and adequate (160GB) hard drive capacity. It also carries the energy star rating making it not only energy efficient but great on the environment too.
