Ebay's Bargain Bin Bonanza - Macbook MB061LL/B![]() I don't know much about the previous owner but the battery had been recharged 144 times when I bought the laptop, so it had been somewhat used. I'm extremely pleased with it and the only issues it had was that the built-in camera turned on at seemingly random times until an IT friend told me that was a known bug and walked me through steps to make that stop. The camera still functions, but now it only turns on when it's supposed to! As far as cons, the only thing I could really criticize is that the edges of the laptop are kind of sharp, which is uncomfortable sometimes when I'm typing. It has a lot of ports: 3 USB, a headphone jack, FireWire, and mini-DVI output (but does not come with a mini-DVI cable, so to use that feature you'd have to track down a converter). The sound is good, the image on the screen is stunning, and the built-in camera has an unbelievable range (I take outdoor pictures with it sometimes since I don't have a digital camera and they turn out quite good)! The wifi is also quite good, with excellent range. It came with Snow Leopard and all the customary software toys like iTunes, Photo Booth, and iChat. I added Microsoft Office 2008 and Adobe CS4. I use it for graphics and video editing, system intensive stuff, and it launches software quickly, doesn't lag during use, and boots up in just over 30 seconds. (It shuts down in six seconds!) It charges pretty quickly and the charge lasts about 2:30. It weighs 5 pounds and measures 12.75" x 1" x 9" (13.3 inch screen), which I think is fairly ideal as far as screen real estate and function versus light and portable for travel.
