Decrepit Desktop Replaced By Toshiba L455 |

When my old and outdated PC broke yet again, I was not sure if I should purchase a new computer or just repair the old one for a fifth time. So I created a list, taking note of the pros and cons of each option. After reviewing my list, repairing the old computer just did not make any sense. I live in the country, so the nearest computer hardware store was 30 miles away, but the trip turned out to be more than worth it. When I got there, I spent about an hour comparing the display models, reviewing the specifications of each one. |

The $389.00 price tag of the silver 15.6" Toshiba Satellite L455 caught my eye more than any other laptop in the store, so I had the sales associate ring me up. I could not wait to get home and try it out. One of my favorite things about this Toshiba laptop is the 250 GB hard drive and the three GB of memory. This is a huge upgrade from my previous computer, which had only 512 MB of memory. Thanks to this, start-up takes only half the time that my previous computer took. The L455 also came with Windows 7, which is much more user-friendly than Windows XP was. The processor is nothing to write home about, a 2.2GHz Intel Celeron 900, but it serves me well. One thing that I do not really like about the laptop is that there is not a built in microphone or web cam. My family lives several states away, so I used to use my old computer's web cam and microphone to keep in touch with them. But with this new laptop, I will have to purchase an external USB camera and microphone to do so. This is a bit inconvenient, but when i consider the deal I got I really have no reason to complain. I would definitely recommend this model to my friends and family. Anybody who needs a new computer should definitely consider a Toshiba Satellite L455. It may not have the features of the higher priced models, but it certainly gets the job done for me.
