Why I Like My Cheap Toshiba L305 Laptop |
![]() |
When I saw the L305-S5955 Toshiba Satellite laptop on sale for around $300 at Best Buy, it was a deal that I just couldn't pass up. Since buying it nearly nine months ago, I'm happy to report that it does just about everything that I need. I mostly use it to browse the Internet; whether I'm watching YouTube videos or playing an online game like ToonTown, the Toshiba L305-S5955 works a treat. |

There are several things that I really like about this Toshiba. Its large screen is definitely a perk; at 15.4 inches, it's big enough to watch full-length movies on with ease. Its wireless capabilities are quite good; there's sometimes a slight lag when it first detects a wireless network, but once it's online it doesn't tend to have any problems. The DVD drive on this laptop also works phenomenally well; it's never given me any trouble any time I've used it to watch a movie. One thing's for sure: The Toshiba L305-S5955 laptop is a bare-bones machine. While it works great for browsing online and watching movies, it's not designed for a whole lot more. There's no SD card reader, which is aggravating for someone who uses a digital camera on a regular basis. Instead, there is an overabundance of USB ports; I only make use of one on a regular basis. The keyboard on this Toshiba Satellite laptop isn't especially responsive, and dust gets trapped under the keys quite easily. Finally, the sound quality on this laptop's speakers is sub-par; when I watch movies on it, I always use headphones. All in all, the Toshiba Satellite L305-S5955 is a reliable and useful laptop. As long as your expectations - and requirements - aren't too high, you'll struggle to find a better deal on any other 15.4 inch notebook out there today.
